The summer heat can’t keep these volunteers from cleaning up Berry Avenue. Local kids and leaders recently partnered with “Keep Newnan Beautiful” to clean-up litter from Newnan’s streets as part of Kids Mission Camp – a ministry partnership between Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church and Newnan First United Methodist Church.

This year’s theme for the three-day Kids Mission Camp was “Created to Care,” which focuses on empowering kids to care for the earth, God’s creatures, and for one another.

In addition to the city clean-up, the kids helped lead a “Blessing of the Animals” service, packed “Doggie” and “Kitty” bags for clients of Bridging the Gap, planted butterfly host plants, observed and appreciated nature through a Nature Scavenger Hunt, and packed Flood Buckets and Hygiene Kits for disaster relief in partnership with the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
