Downtown Newnan has often played a supporting role in several movie productions, but now the city is the leading star.

“A Place Worth Sharing” is the newest video produced by the city, which highlights Newnan as a community on the rise with many things to offer.

The project began in early 2019 when the city began working on the concept and ideas behind the promo video.

The video grew out of a need to share the story of Newnan as it heads into a new decade, according to Ashley Copeland, communications manager for the city of Newnan.

“It had been more than ten years since the city last released a promo video, and since that time, the city has grown and changed over time,” Copeland said. “We needed something new and current, to fit with our city’s new growth and excitement.”

In July 2019, the city began working with Bleu Lion Media, a local, full-service video production and photography company to help put the city’s concepts and ideas to life through a 2-minute video.

“The new video aims to present Newnan as a welcoming city that offers everything from dining to entertainment, great schools and jobs – for anyone considering living and working here,” Copeland said.

So far, the #APlaceWorthSharing video has been shared via the city’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube pages, as well as during last week’s Newnan City Council Meeting.

Mayor Keith Brady said the film does an excellent job of portraying Newnan as a place where you’d want to raise your children.

“Jobs, great neighborhoods, and most importantly plenty of diverse activities for all ages,” he said. “Who wouldn’t want to live here?”
