Just a reminder that Labor Day and Powers Festival is only 3 weeks away. 

We visited the site Thursday and found several speakers out and wires down and as usual things need cleaning and dusting.

Several of us are meeting at Hardees on Hospital road at 9am Saturday August 15th to go out to Powers to get things in shape. All are welcome to come out to help. We should be at Powers by 10 am.

We will probably have several more work days to get everything ready for Labor Day. Please join us and help us get ready.  We will be monitoring 146.13 repeater or 146.52 simplex.

Also let me know if you can help man the porch and shack during the festival September 5th, 6th, and 7th.
We need 5 or more to man the shack and porch and have rovers to help out. We furnish the PA system for the festival which we get paid for. Other than member dues this is our only income to support the repeaters and Field Day activities.

Let me know when you can help. If I do not hear from you we will be contacting you to see is you can help during the festival.

We operate a Special Event Station during the festiveal. Come on out and get on the air.

Bill, Keith, and I are going out to Powers tomorrow Saturday and finish up getting things set-up.

Marc, Ellis, Bill, Keith, and I went out last week and got started cleaning things up. We will be replacing some speakers and repairing some wires. If you want to come out and help you will be welcome. We will be there until 1 or so. Give us a call on the 13 repeater or 146.58 or my cell 404-630-2870.

We are also short of help during Powers. We need at least 2 more hams on each of the 3 days. You can sign up for an AM or PM shift or all day.  We will staff the ham shack and the porch Saturday, Sunday and Monday. It is easy work at the shack just show folks what ham radio is all about and at the porch we are the contact if they need ham help from the radio group and we make the PA announcements for them.

Send me an email if you can help out. We will get you a gate and parking pass.
