[Bgmrc-list] Tonight's net

Tonight's net on the 145.13 repeater will take place as always, but it's
going to be different.

Participation in the net has fallen off considerably since it ceased to
be an ARES net, and it really hasn't made sense to continue it as a
formal, directed net. We've continued with it to encourage use of the
513 repeater and in hopes that local hams who may not have had occasion
to QSO during the week will take the opportunity to do so.

We still want the net to continue but there don't seem to be many people
interested in taking charge as net control and operating from a script.
And when there aren't many people on the air right at 9:00, anyone who
tunes in a few minutes late may have missed it entirely. So...

Chris or I will transmit via the repeater at or about 9:00 tonight, and
then Chris and I will monitor for a while. Anyone who checks in can call
directly to anyone else who's on the frequency. If nothing else, tune in
and let's exchange 73s.

There's still the formal, directed ARES net every Tuesday evening at
2100 hours, using the KK4GQ 145.21 Fayetteville and, by link, the N4OME
147.165 repeater in Madras among others. See http://www.FayCowARES.org/
