The mounting bracket and hardware didn't come with the radio and Radio Shack has been no help in indentifying the screws that will fit into the sides of the case so I can improvise something. I might be able to estimate the shaft diameter, but I'd have to buy samples of just about every possible thread count and try them all to find the right one. If anyone has any information that will help me find substitute screws for mounting this radio, I'll be very grateful. Thanks and 73, Kevin AK4MC From mcgehee at mcgehee.cc Fri May 11 12:18:45 2007 From: mcgehee at mcgehee.cc (McGehee) Date: Fri May 11 12:18:54 2007 Subject: [Bgmrc-list] [SPAM]antenna question Message-ID: <46449765.4060604@mcgehee.cc> Chris KL0UD and I are looking at possibly getting a kit antenna for HF, and one of those we're looking at is the G5RV dipole. We'd like to hear from anyone who has one of these and can tell us what problems they might have. We want something multi-band but relatively simple to build (particularly for someone who's never built an antenna before) and operate. Need a volunteer to check in on the Georgia state net on Sunday 6/3 at 6pm to report our results. Eddie K4UN announced that at the BGMRC meeting, Field Day and Powers Crossroads were discussed. People are invited to bring their mobile rigs to Field Day and get them outfitted with Anderson Powerpoles, the standard connector for ARES. Powerpoles will be available for purchase at a minimal cost, thanks to the guys who brought some back from Dayton this year. Eddie and Ellis K4WPM will be sending postcards about Field Day to all hams in Coweta County. At Powers this year the club will be handling the intercom system and staffing the hamshack, but once again will have no involvement with the Monday evening load-out. Work parties for wiring, etc. will be announced soon. (Eddie & others, please provide additions and corrections as needed...)
