Any donations (money, supplies, ... ?) to help him out with this task would be appreciated. Hope to see you all at the BGMRC Eating Meeting Tues Dec 19th, at the Golden Corral in Newnan. 73, Chris KL0UD From vmrichardson at bellsouth.net Sat Dec 16 14:04:08 2006 From: vmrichardson at bellsouth.net (vmrichardson@bellsouth.net) Date: Sat Dec 16 14:04:22 2006 Subject: [Bgmrc-list] No Code is a Reality Message-ID: <001401c72144$f735cf20$6400000a@New> To all: In late January there will be no requirement for Code, not even for Extra. I really do appreciate the support. As of today the 147.165 and 442.250 repeaters are back on the air. Tony W4ZT, John N4JML, George W4IW, and Chris K4HAC helped to put things back together. Many thanks for their support today. We had a good time and a very successful installation. The replacement connector was installed as well as a new hardline jumper from the tower to the repeater building. While these repeaters aren't club repeaters they are open to ARES, SYKWARN, and to all local traffic. Please feel free to use anytime. Thanks again for the support. Hope to catch you on the air soon. I need Hams who are willing to assist. The material to be covered is at a Tech Class level and all materials needed for instruction will be provided. In addition to instructors I will need Hams who are willing to answer calls on 2 meter to provide the scouts an opportunity to have a short QSO. The tentative date is January 20 from 8 - 5. Even if you can only devote a few hours please sign up for morning or afternoon. This is an opportunity to create some interest in Amateur radio and get some fresh blood into the hobby. From the participants we hope to generate enough interest for a later class that would complete their preparation for the Tech Exam. This is our chance to light a candle rather than curse the darkness relative to waning interest in Ham radio. Give me a positive response so we can fulfill our mission.
