To all:
We had 7 folks show up for the training. We thought there would be more??? Two were Boy Scouts, 12 and 14 years of age, the remaining were Georgia Defense Force. 5 of the 7 passed the test. One of the ones that didn't pass was the 12 year old. He and the other person took the exam twice. The adult that failed said she just never has been able to take tests well. The encouraging thing was that everyone elected to take the test right after the training.
It was very encouraging for me...training sessions for a Technician can be run successfully using the same "philosophy" that aviation weekend ground schools utilize.
Thanks to George Peck for providing some technical advice to the Georgia Defense Force.
Thanks to Chris "KL0UD" for dropping by and giving a great RACES/ARES brief.
Thanks to Brian Roy for letting us borrow a computer projector.
Many thanks to Lex Kister for being a "Co-instructor" and sacrificing his weekend off!!
I think some of the attendees plan to attend the Ham Meeting tonight.
